Fenugreek

Indians uses lots of spices and herbs. The different colour, shapes and smell and their effect on the food that we cook. I for one have only now, started to try to understand the importance and the implication of these herbs and spices. As the first attempt, I have choosen fenugreek.....

Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum) is a plant in the Family Fabaceae. It is commonly known as menthya (Kannada), Venthayam (Tamil), menthulu (Telugu) or Methi (Bangla, Hindi, Marathi). Fenugreek is used both as a herb (the leaves) and as a spice (the seed). It is cultivated worldwide as a semi-arid crop. It is frequently used in curry. From Wikipedia
